International Sports Festival and Fun Day

On Saturday 23rd June, Northfields hosted an U13 football and netball festival involving 12 football and 8 netball teams.
The teams consisted of players from Le Bocage, Lighthouse, West Coast, Redhill (South Africa), Northfields and Standard Chartered Football Academy. All the teams were involved in round robin pool matches with the top 2 teams in each pool progressing to the semi-final.
The Northfields cheerleaders did a fantastic job of encouraging our players throughout the day, pushing them to perform at their best.
Well done to these ladies! Both the netball and football semi-finals took place after lunch with the winning teams contesting the final and the losing teams playing for 3rd and 4th place.

The final results were as follows:
1. Northfields
2. Le Bocage
3. Redhill Knight Riders
Player of the tournament: William L. (Northfields)

1. Redhill Shooting Stars
2. Redhill Crouching Tigers
3. Northern Foxes
Player of the tournament: Mia B. (Redhill Shooting Stars)

The event was a huge success with plenty of opportunities for all of our community and guests to shop, eat great food and enjoy a variety of fun games.

The Fun Day was organized in conjunction with our Sports Festival, with a Craft Market; Car Boot Sale; Food Court; Battlezone – Speed Laser Tag; Kids Play Area – Gladiator, Bungee Run, Pony Rides, Dunking Booth and Giant Fuse Ball, to name a few; and a Place of Play (POP) under the watchful eyes of Northfields Pre-Primary staff for little ones with face painting and Monkeynastics.

The Parents Committee were instrumental in organizing the day and ensuring all went off so well – a huge thank you to them for their endless ideas and hard work! Thanks go as well to everyone who donated items or volunteered their help for the day. We extend a special thanks to our biggest sponsors for the day: l’Artigiano for their plentiful and delicious contributions to the food court; to Club d’Equitation du Nord (CEN) for hosting their ever-popular pony rides and an very impressive vaulting display; and to Curtin Mauritius for their generous support overall for the event.

Fun Day was a wonderful opportunity to share in our community spirit as we finished this academic year. We were delighted to see so many families and friends there to share in the good times together, and we look forward to many successful Fun Days in the years to come.
