Northfields International School is proud to announce that on the 19th May 2017, it officially launched a new club known as the Junior Optimist Club.

We are delighted to announce that our "Junior Optimist Club" has officially been constituted in the hope of perpetuating the school values and helping our community. Junior Optimist is an internationally-known organisation with the aim of bringing together many different cultures and countries in an attempt to create opportunities to help people on small or larger scales.

Optimist Clubs are dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and do their part through community service programmes. Since each club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their area in any way they see fit.

In order to do this, our members have set up a variety of events and action to bring contributions to our local community, such as reading clubs for preparatory-school students or fun runs to raise money to fight against cancer. We are still in the process of getting everything started and are hoping to make this an official club for the whole of Mauritius.

Our club consists of eight passionate students who will strive to make our community a better place.
