The health and well-being of our students is of paramount importance to us at Northfields. We believe that all pupils can be successful in a caring, encouraging and positive environment. Northfields is a happy school where students are supported and encouraged to make the very best of their potential and where their character and well-being is nurtured and developed. Students are valued as individuals, each with their own unique strengths, passions and needs. We promote students’ personal and social development and foster positive attitudes and values.
Our supportive environment focuses on the student as a whole allowing them to progress academically, personally and socially. Northfields students leave us possessing the school’s core values. They are intellectually curious, independent thinkers who are able to take risks with sound judgement. They are respectful of themselves, of others and the environment, as well as show honesty and discipline in their approaches and have the courage of their own convictions.
Well-being, care for others, perseverance and honour lies at the core of our values. Students know that they have a voice that is heard by teachers and pupils. Initiatives such as Student Council, student led community projects, Service Project and charity fund raising are embedded in our culture.
Students are encouraged to involve themselves in as many activities as possible throughout their time at Northfields. Leadership skills are developed at different stages of the educational ladder with Junior leaders and Senior Prefect responsibilities.
