Sixth Form Programme
Sixth Form studies at Northfields are designed to provide our students with challenging academic and personal development opportunities that will prepare them for success in a wide variety of educational and career paths.
At Northfields, we accept that no two students are the same, and that every individual will have different needs and expectations. With this in mind, we have put together a challenging Sixth Form Programme, merging qualifications from two of the ‘giants’ in International Education, namely the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Cambridge Assessment International Examinations.
By offering both the IB Diploma and Cambridge AS/A Level programmes in tandem, we believe that we can provide our students with the flexibility they need to succeed and flourish at this level, as well as the tools and internationally recognised qualifications that will set them on the right path when they leave Northfields.
Objectives and Challenges
Our Sixth Form students are encouraged to show independence in their approach to learning and to take on more responsibility as senior members of the student body. They have many opportunities to develop their knowledge, abilities and interests through their academic studies as well as through their choice of enrichment and extracurricular activities.
Sixth Form also provides them with opportunities to grow as leaders of the Northfields student body. Not only will they demonstrate leadership through their daily interaction with peers and younger students, but they will also have the opportunity to help in running one of the many PreCAS and after-school activities that we offer or ultimately in serving as a member of our Prefect body.
