Mixed Age Groups

Mixing children of different ages is a core principle of the Montessori philosophy and allows children to learn from one another effectively. Young children learn by observing others as models; older children act as role models and sometimes teachers of younger children. That is why, at Northfields International Nursery and Primary School, there will be classes with mixed age groups:

• Children’s House: children aged 3 years to 6 years
• Lower Primary: children aged 6 years to 9 years
