In view of the COVID-19 situation, Northfields commemorated the 54th Independence Day of Mauritius in a special way this year, both in the lead up to and on the day itself.
The focus of our National Day celebration this year was on the protection of our environment and the critical part this plays in being a responsible global citizen. In line with our theme, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Flavio Joseph from Reef Conservation Mauritius as our Guest of Honor to grace this occasion.
There were poetry competitions held and the winners were given the opportunity to recite their winning poem during the official ceremony. We had participants representing the different nationalities at Northfields reciting a timely poem on peace in their native language.
Our CAS students also wonderfully decorated a board outlining the history of Mauritius.
