On the 21st of June, Northfields celebrated Music Day with the theme of “Music Around the World”. Our day started with form tutors sharing a video and special message from the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir who will be visiting our school in September this year with their classes. A fun class quiz all about music and musical instruments was played as an interclass competition as well. Well done to 10H for winning this year’s music quiz. In music class, our Year 8’s demonstrated their handmade instruments and taught our Year 7s all about the Orchestra.

There was much excitement in the hall as we welcomed Mauritian superstar Bigg Frankii and his crew to our stage to perform for the Secondary School students.

This was followed by a jam-packed concert highlighting our talented musicians, singers, and some of our talented staff members. We also announced that our first Northfields musical will be Disney’s Moana, which will be performed in the 1st term towards the end of the year at the Caudan Theatre.

Congratulations to all our performers and staff involved in this year’s Music Day. It was a great success.
